Erik Spoelstra discussed the Miami Heat’s upcoming series against the Philadelphia Sixers, including the difficulty of guarding both James Harden and Joel Embiid.
“They have two guys that really know how to draw fouls and do it exceptionally well,” said Spoelstra on Friday.
Spoelstra made his comments before Embiid was ruled out indefinitely due to an orbital fracture.
Spoelstra added that Harden changes the look of the Sixers from their previous matchups.
“You’re talking about an MVP player,” said Spoelstra. “A guy who can manipulate the game; he can hurt you whether he’s scoring or whether he’s assisting, or whether he’s just manipulating the defense.”
Bam Adebayo said that he expects Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry to both be ready for Game 1 on Monday night.
“I’m expecting them to just get healthy day by day, honestly,” Adebayo said. “If they can go, they can go. If they’re not, we got to go out there regardless.”
