The Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James decided not to stand during the National Anthem at a USC game. Instead, he chose to move around and eventually sit down, showing no apparent respect for the United States’ Anthem.
Enes Kanter Freedom, who was effectively kicked out of the NBA in February of 2022 because of his strong vocal opinion on the treatment of Uyghur Muslims by communist China, reacted to James’ lack of respect for the country that played a significant role in his billionaire status.
“LeBron James will stand up for anyone who pays him the most money,” Kanter Freedom said. “If that was a Chinese national anthem, trust me, he would have stood up and put his hand on his heart.”
