Draymond Green didn’t hold back himself, spitting harsh words and realizations on the Golden State Warriors’ second narrow defeat, this time against the Orlando Magic.
Following the painful third-straight loss on Tuesday, Green claimed that they are not having quality basketball on a nightly basis, even saying that the Dubs were “playing stupid.”
“I think we’re playing soft,” Green said after the Warriors’ 94-90 loss against the Magic, via 95.7 The Game. “We’re playing stupid. We’re just not playing good basketball and we’re getting punked. It’s hard to win a game when you’re getting punked.”
The veteran forward also criticized his team for failing to keep things tight down the stretch, an embarrassing showing against the Magic in which he called “one of the worst teams in the league” with due respect.
Playing against a rebuilding, fourteenth-seeded Magic squad is considered an easy dub for a contending team like the Warriors, yet they came up short in cutting their ongoing losing slump. With no main man Stephen Curry in the lineup until the end of the season, Bay Area keeps sliding and sliding down the standings.
As such, their next game against the first-seeded Miami Heat on Wednesday will hugely offer a daunting challenge. It is now up to Golden State on how they’ll bounce back in order to return to the win column and enhance their seedings before the playoff time starts in mid-April.
