Warriors head coach Steve Kerr substituted Draymond Green with Andrew Wiggins with 7 minutes left to play in the fourth quarter of Game 4.
The three-time NBA champion was visibly unhappy with being sent to the bench. Without him Golden State managed to increase the lead and won the game 107-97.
After the game Green admitted that was not thrilled that Kerr substituted him. At the same time he accepted the coach’s decision, especially since it brought the team the win.
“Definitely never thrilled coming out of the game seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter in a must win game,” Green said. “I’m not going to sit here and act like I was thrilled. I’m a competitor.
“But at the end of the day if that’s what coach decides, then you roll with it and I had to keep my head in the game and whenever I went back in try to make some plays.
“So, that was just my mindset – don’t make too much of it. I’ve always been on the bandwagon of if you got something that’s rolling, you stick with it. So, that’s what it is.”
