Double celebration for FC Barcelona in yesterday’s EuroLeague action. Firstly, Roger Grimau’s team extended their impressive start to 5-1, trailing only the undefeated Real Madrid in the standings.
Additionally, the 17-year-old prodigy, Dame Sarr, made his official EuroLeague debut.
With Rokas Jokubaitis unavailable, the Catalan head coach opted to give 1:22 minutes of action to the young prospect, who had previously scored 8 points in last year’s ACB encounter against Carplus Fuenlabrada.
Sarr showcased his talent at this year’s FIBA U18 European Championship, leading the Italian national team with averages of 17.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
Having come through the ranks of the Italian academy Orange Bassano, Sarr moved to Barcelona in 2022.
He made his debut under Sarunas Jasikevicius in last year’s victory over Surne Bilbao Basket, becoming the second youngest ever to don the Catalan team’s jersey.
Notably, he is yet to play in this year’s ACB.
