Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers is doing his best to make it clear he’d rather not answer any more questions about Ben Simmons. Before playing in Boston on Wednesday night, Rivers said that’s not something he’s involved in at the moment.
“I literally don’t even talk about it. I coach the team and the guys that I can see every day. I let Daryl (Morey) and Elton (Brand) deal with all of the other stuff.”
Simmons has yet to play this season after requesting a trade in the offseason. At this point it’s unclear how much interaction Simmons has on a regular basis with the 76ers. Simmons camp has maintained that he’s battling mental health concerns that are keeping him from being around the team. Philadelphia has sporadically fined Simmons for not reporting for mandatory meetings, workouts, games and other sessions.
