Disney CEO Bob Chapek said that the company is interested in renewing its television deal with the NBA on Wednesday’s earning call.
“We are interested in a renewal with the NBA,” said Chapek, although he added that “we will only do it if it is accretive to shareholder value.”
The two sides are currently in a 10-year contract worth around $24 billion. The deal is set to expire after the 2024-25 season.
It is rumored that the NBA is looking for up to $75 billion on its next TV deal.
Chapek added that Disney remain “bullish on sports.”
“A continued relationship with the NBA would be something that is really attractive to us,” added Chapek.
