San Antonio Spurs rookie standout Victor Wembanyama is on the brink of a significant achievement with the potential to make the All-Star Game in his debut season.
Teammate Devin Vassell anticipates that if the first overall draft pick misses out on the All-Star selection, he will use it as fuel for motivation.
“That’s a big ask, obviously, coming in as a rookie. That’s the type of goals and expectations that I feel like he’s set for himself, and he’s used to. If he doesn’t make the All-Star game, I think he’s gonna prove a point. I don’t know what them numbers gonna look like after that,” Vassell said.
Wembanyama’s chances for All-Star recognition might be hindered by the Spurs’ struggling record, currently standing at 10-38, the third-worst in the NBA.
The rookie sensation has showcased impressive stats this season, averaging 20.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in just 28.6 minutes per game, making him a strong contender despite the team’s overall performance.
