Following the Phoenix Suns’ recent defeat to the Sacramento Kings, Eric Gordon, a vital player in the absence of Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic, voiced dissatisfaction over his limited shot opportunities during the game.
Despite his crucial role, Gordon, the Suns’ third-best player, played 24 minutes as a starter and attempted only two shots, prompting reflections on the evolving dynamics of his offensive role.
Averaging 11 shot attempts per game, Gordon highlighted a recent shift in emphasis and expressed his intention to discuss the matter with head coach Frank Vogel.
Despite Gordon’s frustrations, Devin Booker stressed that the team doesn’t take it personally and acknowledged Gordon’s earned respect and talent.
“Nobody takes what he said personal around here. He’s been in this a long time. He’s earned that respect and he has the talent to do what he said,” he said, per Duane Rankin.
Gordon’s statistical contributions this season include averaging 13.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game in 31.5 minutes of play.
