De’Aaron Fox knew that he underperformed when the Sacramento Kings needed him the most in crunch time, as the Golden State Warriors snatched their Game 5 showdown on Wednesday, 129-125.
“Second half, I have to play better personally,” Fox said, per NBC Sports’ Tom Dierberger. “Playing a team multiple times, they’re going to make adjustments. At times I had good looks, it just didn’t go in.
“I think [the Warriors] played a good game. Defensively, they got their hands on a lot of balls, a lot of deflections and blocked shots.”
After heating up in the first three quarters and tallied 24 markers, Fox suddenly was nonexistent on the final frame.
The inaugural winner of the Clutch Player of the Year went passive against the Warriors, finishing with a scoreless output in the fourth quarter. He also missed all of his six field goal attempts in the period and tallied two costly turnovers.
With the series now favoring the Warriors at 3-2, Fox will look to have a revenge game with Game 6 set on Friday in San Francisco.
