Clippers’ Norman Powell believes no players has an ego on their roster in 2024-25

On Wednesday, the LA Clippers lost 108-80 to the Minnesota Timberwolves at home. The team is 14-10 this season and 7-3 in their last 10. They are currently sixth in the Western Conference through their first 24 games. This offseason, the team parted ways with two veteran players.

Paul Geroge left in free agency and signed a new long-term deal with the 76ers ahead of the 2024-25 season. Additionally, the Clippers traded Russell Westbrook to the Jazz and he was waived by Utah. Eventually, the former MVP signed a two-year, veteran’s minimum with the Nuggets. While the team lost star talent, the Clippers are still finding ways to stay relevant in the West. Norman Powell is one Clippers player who’s off to a hot start this season. Powell believes there are no egos on this year’s roster and everyone is doing whatever it takes to win.

The Clippers are connected as a team in 2024-25

Last season, the Clippers finished the year 51-31 but lost in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. In 2024-25, the team lost some of their best players from the previous season. However, the Clippers are still playing at a high level for the talent they do have. Leading the team in points per game this season is Norman Powell (23.9). That is a new career high for the 31-year-old. There were rumors that Powell was going to be traded this offseason. Instead, he’s been one of the team’s most consistent scorers in his 17 games played.

Powell explained that the roster is 2024-25 is “team-oriented” and “coachable”, two things a winning team needs. He even said that the Clippers are playing “pure basketball.” It’s not players looking to play iso ball and take bad shots. LA is playing connected on both sides of the ball and is trying to win every time they touch the court. Their next game is Sunday, December 8 at home vs. the Rockets.
