The Los Angeles Clippers are considered as front runners to regain Nicolas Batum.
Yahoo! Sports’ Mark Haynes has provided that while the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz are being expected as potential negotiators for Batum, league sources have relayed that the Clippers are “in the driver’s seat” to sign him.
The veteran recently declined his $3.3 million player option to enter free agency, but there were murmurs that both Batum and the LAC are just restructuring for a two-year deal.
Batum chalked up an average of 8.3 markers, 4.3 boards, 1.7 dimes in 59 regular season games for the Clips, who fell for a 2022 postseason contention after their Play-in losses against the Minnesota Timberwolves and the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Clippers are being considered as a solid title contender next year with the anticipated return of Kawhi Leonard from ACL recovery.
