Christian Wood is undoubtedly one of the best remaining unrestricted free agents on the market and some Lakers fans are clutching at straws after noticing something on social media.
The Twitter account, LakersGuru noticed that Wood’s profile background on Twitter is a photo of him hugging Kobe.

However, this has been Wood’s background for some time. It’s definitely not new, as some fans pointed out.
Mere hours before LakersGuru’s post, Wood himself took to social media to try and understand what he’s done wrong.
Because he’s apparently been receiving hate from NBA fans as he searches for a new team.
“Worked my ass off for everything I got AND went undrafted AND still made it through .. trynna figure out when I developed haters lol …,” Wood tweeted.
If LA were to sign Wood, it would have to be on a vet minimum contract.
One NBA Analyst Jake Weinbach thinks they are a genuine chance to sign the 27-year-old.
“The Lakers, Sixers, and Heat are potential landing spots for free agent forward Christian Wood,” Weinbach tweeted. “There doesn’t seem to be much of a market for the talented big man.”
Wood is originally from Long Beach in California, so if he did sign with the purple and gold he would be closer to his roots.
The big man averaged 16.6 points per game for Dallas last season, along with 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists on 51.5 percent shooting from the field.
Only time will tell where the seven-season NBA journeyman will end up but it is highly likely he will be snapped up pretty soon.
