Chris Paul will start the Golden State Warriors preseason opener alongside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Kevon Looney, according to Steve Kerr.
“We’re going to run plenty of pick-and-roll because Chris is one of the best pick-and-roll players in the world. But he’s also showing he’s very interested in incorporating some of the stuff we already do — our split cut game and our movement,” said Kerr.
Draymond Green is currently out for the next 4-6 weeks due to a sprained ankle.
Paul added on media day that he was willing to do anything to help the Warriors win.
Kerr added that with Wiggins guarding small forwards, Thompson would be tasked with guarding opposition power forwards.
“Klay would guard the four man. He’s so physically strong. He’s so used to guarding post-up players after switches. We think Klay can guard as a four this year. We’ll put him in coverage where he has to defend pick-and-roll as a four,” added Kerr.
