When Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul was spotted with a cast/wrap on his right hand at All-Star media availability, he said he hoped it was nothing serious. As it turns out, Paul has an avulsion fracture in his right thumb and will be out at least six-to-eight weeks.
Paul seemed so non-plussed about the injury, that he suggested he might even play a few minutes in Sunday’s All-Star Game. While Paul still plans to make a cameo appearance in the All-Star Game, he’ll likely be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season.
There are seven weeks left in the NBA’s regular season. Phoenix currently sits in the top spot in the Western Conference, a comfortable 6.5 games ahead of the second-place Golden State Warriors.
