A disappointing overtime loss against the worst team in the NBA might not be the bottom for the Lakers. Los Angeles started the season with eyes set on another championship.
Even though the season did not go as expected, there was little doubt that the Lakers would make the playoffs. Then the path to postseason seemed to likely go through the play-in tournament.
The loss against the Rockets raised doubts about whether the purple and gold can hang on the play-in spot. Sports analyst Chris Broussard thinks that this is not yet the bottom for the Lakers.
“Believe it or not, no. These Lakers have taught us that it can always get worse,” Broussard said on First Things First. “How many times have they hit rock bottom? They can fall out of the play-in & have no chance. They can still fall into the abyss.”
