The Boston Celtics are planning to sign veteran forward Al-Farouq Aminu and center Norvel Pelle to 10-Day contracts using the hardship exception. Boston currently has eight players in the health and safety protocols, including most of their frontcourt rotation.
Aminu was waived at the end of the preseason by the San Antonio Spurs. The 11-year veteran appeared in 23 total games with the Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls last season. Aminu holds career averages of 7.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
Pelle has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings in his two-year NBA career. This season, Pelle has averaged 8.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks for the Cleveland Charge of the G League.
