The Athletic’s Shams Charania has the first sneak peek of the 2024-2025 NBA regular schedule with the slate of Christmas Day games:
Last season, Boston spent the holiday in Los Angeles playing the Lakers to cap off a four-game California road trip, but it looks like the Celtics will be getting some well-deserved home cooking this year when their Atlantic Division rival is in town.
Unlike the run-it-back defending champs, Philly revamped their roster. After re-signing James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, Kyle Lowry, and Kelly Oubre, they brought in Paul George, Eric Gordon, Andre Drummond, and Caleb Martin.
The Celtics could be getting some more important presents to open on Christmas Day, too. The initial timetable for Kristaps Porzingis’ return was 5-6 months after having foot surgery in late June. That puts him back in green somewhere between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve. Remember how juiced his return was for Game 1 of the Finals? That could be some electric yuletide energy on the 25th.
