Celtics Engage Nets In Trade Talks For Kevin Durant, Jaylen Brown Mentioned As Possible Centerpiece

The Boston Celtics have engaged the Brooklyn Nets in trade talks over Kevin Durant, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Wojnarowski adds that although the Celtics are no closer than any other team in trading for Durant, the potential to add Jaylen Brown as a centerpiece in a deal makes them “formidable” partners.

The Celtics could offer Brown, three unprotected first-round picks in 2025, 2027, and 2029, as well as pick swaps in 2024 and 2026 in exchange for Durant.

The Heat, Suns, and Raptors have previously been mentioned as possible Durant destinations, with the Celtics also in frequent contact with the Nets.

No deals for Durant are believed to have gained any significant traction due to the Nets’ demands for a massive return.

Jayson Tatum is reportedly considered off limits in any potential deal.
