The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to upgrade on the wing in free agency. One player they are interested in is Max Strus of the Miami Heat.
Cleveland has the full Non-Taxpayer MLE of $12.4 million available this summer. The Cavs should have enough clearance under the tax to use all of the MLE, re-sign Caris LeVert and fill out their roster.
It’s unclear if the MLE will be enough for Strus, who reportedly has suitors from teams with cap space, like the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic. What is clear is that Strus will have a market that offers him at least the MLE as a floor for contract negotiations.
