The Milwaukee Bucks have ruled out Giannis Antetokounmpo (back) for Game 3 of their first-round matchup with the Miami Heat this Saturday, per Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
Per Nehm, Antetokounmpo isn’t present on his normal pregame routine this weekend. Coach Mike Budenholzer has noted that they will continue their monitoring on the condition of the two-time MVP.
Antetokounmpo notably sustained a back injury after a gruesome fall at the start of the series against the Heat. He was announced unavailable to play on the team’s eventual Game 1 downfall.
With Giannis out, Bobby Portia will potentially start for Milwaukee against Miami. Both Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday are also expected to perform and carry the load of outlasting the Heat on their home turf.
