Today Spain and France will meet in the final of EuroBasket 2022. The winner will be crowned the strongest team in Europe until the next tournament in 2025.
Suns’ center Bismack Biyombo jokingly shared his observation about the Final on Twitter. “In my eyes I only see Spain vs Africa 😂 no more comment 😂” he tweeted.
Biyombo, who is Congolese, referred to the fact that the majority of French players have roots in Africa. His tweet was not taken well by some people on Twitter and he proceeded to delete it.
“Cmon guys you can’t be serious, I understand this is sensitive for some but it was nothing but a joke I have friend and ex teammates that are French and from somewhere in africa or have both passport! Honestly is was nothing but a joke.. let’s just stop here 🤦🏾♂️” Biyombo explained that his tweet was nothing more than a joke.
