NORMAN — The Big 12 announced its men’s basketball schedule on Tuesday.
Conference play is set to begin on Jan. 6 and end on March 9. The Big 12 tournament will then unfold in Kansas City, Missouri, from March 12-16.
Here are three takeaways from the conference slate of games for both OU and OSU:

OU returns to Kansas on Jan. 13
The Sooners haven’t won a game in Lawrence, Kansas, since 1993, but they came close last season.
OU suffered a 79-75 road loss to Kansas on Jan. 10. It was a heartbreaking loss for the Sooners, who led by 10 points with 5:19 left in the contest.
Per usual, it won’t be easy for OU to win in Lawrence this season. The Jayhawks added Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson, and they also return players such as Dajuan Harris, Kevin McCullar and K.J. Adams.

OSU gets one shot at Texas on March 2
Texas had OSU’s number last season. The Longhorns won all three matchups, including a 61-47 win in the second round of the Big 12 tournament.
OSU will get its chance at revenge this season, but it’ll only get one shot as opposed to two due to the expansion of the conference. The Cowboys will face the Longhorns on the road on March 2.
Texas went 17-1 at home last season, and it boasts another strong roster this time around. The Longhorns added Oral Roberts transfer Max Abmas, and they brought back key contributors such as Tyrese Hunter and Dylan Disu.

The final Bedlam series
The in-state rivals are set to face each other in Norman on Feb. 10 and in Stillwater on Feb. 24.
It’ll mark the final Bedlam series before OU makes its move to the SEC on July 1, 2024.
OSU has dominated the rivalry as of late. The Cowboys have won six of their last seven meetings against the Sooners, including three Bedlam victories last season alone.
