Ben Simmons has signed a new three-year shoe deal with apparel corporate giant Nike.
Per league insider Marc Stein, the Australian point forward wasn’t able to seize an agreement with the New Balance that offered advanced negotiations. Despite the efforts of NB to snag him earlier this season, Simmons still opted to rejoin the Nike brand.
Entering his first season in the NBA as a standout talent from Louisiana State University, Simmons landed his first professional footwear deal in 2016 and accepted Nike’s five-year, $20 million endorsement offer over Adidas, wherein the deal was believed to be one of the largest rookie deals for the said brand behind LeBron James (2003) and Kevin Durant (2007).
After a controversial standoff all season long, the Philadelphia 76ers pulled the trigger and traded Simmons in a package to the Brooklyn Nets for James Harden and Paul Millsap last February.
Simmons is yet to play and progress on any on-court activities this 2021-2022 campaign for the Nets.
