Ben Simmons is optimistic that 2024 will bring improved health and more opportunities to play with the Brooklyn Nets.
Despite noting positive progress in his ongoing injury rehabilitation, the three-time All-Star couldn’t provide a definite timeline for his return to game action.
He emphasized that he has no specific expectations regarding when he’ll be back on the court.
“For me, the recovery process is never fun, but it’s something I’ve been locked into since having this injury,” Simmons said before the game in his first public comments since he was injured against the Bucks on Nov. 6.
“Everyday I’m just trying to get better to get back on the floor. … I have time left and I’m looking forward to getting back out there.”
Simmons has been out of play since early November due to a lower back nerve impingement, missing his 21st consecutive game against the Nuggets.
Despite the challenges of the recovery process, he remains focused and committed to getting better each day and is eager to return to the court when the time is right.
