Jamal Jones
ASP Promitheas Patras (GBL) landed 30-year old American 203cm small forward Jamal Jones (college: Texas A&M) for new season. Jones played most recently at Dinamo BDS Sassari in Italian Serie A. In 33 games he averaged 10.5ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.2apg last season. He helped them to make it to the Supercup final and to the league semifinals. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week. Jones also played 6 games in Basketball Champions League where he had 13.2ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.8apg.
The previous (2021-22) season he played at Acibadem in Turkish BSL. In 31 games he recorded 9.1ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.1apg in that year. He also played 18 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he got 7.9ppg and 3.2rpg in that year. Jones contributed to his team winning the Cup. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Europe Cup Honorable Mention.
In 2014 he was drafted by Delaware 87ers (D-League) in second round (30th overall).
The former Texas A&M University standout is in his tenth season in pro basketball.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
Jones is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Finland (Kobrat), France (Lille Metropole), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki and Ionikos Nikaias), Italy (Verona) and NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats). Jones played also for Lee College for one year.
