Angola – China 76:83
China pulled off a crucial win over Angola at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. They produced an 83-76 win at the Smart Araneta Coliseum at the start of their Classification Round campaign. Angola and China exchanged the narrow wins in the first half as the board showed 45-45 at the halftime. China erupted with a 24-14 surge in the third quarter to take control of the game. Angola meanwhile replied with a narrow 17-14 rally in the last stanza for the final result.
Jinqiu Hu (211-C-1997) top-scored for the winners with 20 points and Kyle Anderson (206-G/F-1993, college: UCLA) produced 17. Mingxuan Hu (191-PG-1998) delivered 16, whilst Qi Zhou (217-C-1996) notched 10. Childe Dundao (172-PG-1998) answered with 17 points in the losing effort and Bruno Fernando (208-C-1998, college: Maryland) produced 16.
