Lithuania – Mexico 96-66
Lithuania celebrated their second win at the 2023 World Cup. They stormed past Mexico in Group D action in Manila today. Rokas Jokubaitis (193-PG-2000) and Jonas Valanciunas (213-C-1992) posted 15 points each to lead the Baltic team.
Lithuania unloaded 32 points in the first period to pile up a 15-point lead. The Baltic team extended the margin in the second period. They established a comfortable 53-34 halftime lead. Lithuania stayed in charge throughout the second half. They built a 76-51 advantage heading into the fourth quarter and never looked back en route to the win. Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-PF-1989) nailed 14 points for the winners. Gabriel Giron (192-SG-1988) netted 13 points for Mexico.
