Oradea – Cluj Napoca 93-83

The game was mostly controlled by Oradea. Cluj Napoca was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oradea players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American point guard Erick Neal (178-1995, college: UT Arlington) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 assists. Lithuanian Donatas Tarolis (205-1994) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Brazilian Leonardo Meindl (201-1993) replied with 21 points and American swingman Jalen Jones (201-1993, college: Texas A&M) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Cluj Napoca. Five Oradea and four Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Rapid
was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter
eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was
American forward Monyea Pratt (196-1985, college: Stillman) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Rares Uta (211-1997) chipped in 17 points. Sibiu’s coach Tomas Rinkevicius used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American Tyler Stone (203-1991, college: SEMO) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import Demitrius Conger (196-1990, college: St.Bonaventure)
added 18 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!)
respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored
in double figures.
