Experienced Burkinabe-American Bubu Palo (185-SG-91) put on an amazing game in the last round for league’s second-best Team FOG NstvedTFN and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 30-year old shooting guard had the game-high 25 points adding nine rebounds and seven assists for Naestved in his team’s victory, helping them to crush BAC (#6, 7-10) with 18-point margin 91-73. Naestved is placed at 2nd position in Danish BasketLigaen. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Naestved will need more victories to improve their 12-5 record. In the team’s last game Palo had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Naestved’s top player in his first season with the team. Iowa State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Palo is in league’s top in assists (4th best: 5.3apg) and averages solid 61.5% FGP and 40.4% from behind 3-point line.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 25-year old American power forward Reginald Kissoonlal (213-F/C-96, agency: One Motive Sports) of Randers. Kissoonlal impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Randers was edged by the lower-ranked Copenhagen (#8, 5-12) 118-114. This loss caused Randers to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Kissoonlal is well-known by Randers fans and he already established his position as one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.8ppg (#2). He also registered 9.9 boards per game. Marian University, IN alumni Kissoonlal played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
The third best performed player last round was American Durell Vinson (202-C/F-85) of Copenhagen (#8). Vinson scored 24 points and grabbed twenty two rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Copenhagen, leading his team to a 118-114 win against the higher-ranked Randers (#5, 9-5). Copenhagen can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Vinson has a very solid season. In 7 games in Denmark he scored 13.1ppg. He also has 12.1rpg and FGP: 52.3%.
