Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Pesaro (11-15) and Treviso (11-16), which took place in Treviso. Higher ranked Pesaro lost to fourteenth ranked Treviso in a road game 82-96 on Wednesday. It was an exceptional evening for Ike Iroegbu who led the winners and scored 25 points and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Treviso moved-up to eleventh place. Pesaro lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 15 games lost. Treviso will meet league’s second-placed Milano on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pesaro will play against Trieste (#14) and hope to secure a win.
There were no big surprises in other games of round 27: Venezia beat Brescia on the road 79-74. Milano won against Napoli on its own court 88-76. Trieste was outscored by Sassari in a road game 103-80. Tortona managed to beat Reggio Emilia at home 74-68. Brindisi was defeated by Varese on the opponent’s court 93-86.
The most impressive performance of 27th round was 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Jaron Johnson of Varese.

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Venezia (15-12) beat on the road 9th ranked Brescia (12-14) 79-74 on Wednesday. It was an exceptional evening for international point guard Marco Spissu (184-1995) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 7 assists. American Derek Willis (206-1995, college: Kentucky) accounted for 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Troy Caupain (193-1995, college: Cincinnati, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 20 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Kenny Gabriel (205-1989, college: Auburn) added 20 points respectively for Brescia in the defeat.
