Shannon Bogues (190-SG-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for league’s leader Massagno and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 25-year old shooting guard had the game-high 35 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Massagno in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Monthey (#7, 11-14) 86-81. It allowed Massagno to consolidate first place in the Swiss SBL. Massagno have a solid 21-3 record. In the team’s last game Bogues had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He just recently signed at Massagno, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Shannon Bogues averages this season 16.8ppg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young Nigerian power forward Martins Igbanu (203-F/C-1997) of Boncourt. Igbanu impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Boncourt to edge slightly lower-ranked Starwings (#10, 7-18) by 5 points 90-85. Boncourt’s 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 10-16 record. Igbanu is a newcomer at Boncourt and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.4ppg (#2). He also registered 7.2 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was American Dalan Ancrum (198-F-1996) of Neuchatel (#5). Ancrum got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds and four assists. Despite Ancrum’s great performance Neuchatel lost 86-89 to slightly higher-ranked Vevey Riviera (#3, 17-7). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Neuchatel needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 12 victories and 12 lost games. Ancrum has a very solid season. In 22 games in Switzerland he scored 17.5ppg. He also has 6.9rpg, FGP: 54.7% and 3PT: 42.2%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
