The game between Top Four teams took place in Naestved. Second ranked host Naestved (20-6) smashed 4th placed Horsens IC (17-9) 101-78. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Mike McGuirl (189-1998, college: Kansas St.) stepped up and scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and guard Rodney Chatman (189-1998, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 26 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Chris Lykes (170-1998, college: Arkansas) responded with 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Naestved have a solid series of four victories in a row. Despite that victory Naestved went down to third position due to points difference. Horsens IC at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Naestved are looking forward to face league’s second-placed Bakken in Aarhus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Horsens IC will play at home against Herlev and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Holbaek managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of nine consecutive losses. This time newly promoted Holbaek edged ninth-ranked BAC 73-70. Gustav Winther (207-2004) nailed 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Marius Lescevski accounted for 10 points and 11 rebounds. American center Keane Thomann (211-1989, college: MSSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds for BAC in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Holbaek maintains eleventh place with 3-22 record. BAC at the other side keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. Holbaek will play against higher ranked Copenhagen (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BAC will have a break next round.
