Power forward Lenart Sirc (204-PF-2003, agency: PEPI SPORT) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Helios Suns, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 19-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds, while his team crushed Zlatorog (#10, 5-16) with 17-point margin 85-68. It allowed Helios Suns to take over top position in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM. Helios Suns have a solid 18-3 record. In the team’s last game Sirc had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. It’s his second year at Helios Suns and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Lenart Sirc averages this season 4.6ppg.

The second best player in last round’s games was young Tim Tomazic (197-F-1999) of Sentjur. Tomazic had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Sentjur to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Ilirija (#7, 9-12) 99-73. Sentjur’s 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 10-11 record. Tomazic is a newcomer at Sentjur, but is already one of team’s top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was swingman Jure Span (193-G/F-1995, agency: PEPI SPORT) of Rogaska (#5). Span scored 20 points and passed ten assists (!!!). He was a key player of Rogaska, leading his team to a 94-93 win against the lower-ranked LTH Castings (#9, 6-15). The chances of Rogaska ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Span could help Rogaska to bring them higher in the standings. Span has a great season in Slovenia. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 16.2ppg (4th best) and assists with 6.9apg (2nd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
