The Second Stage in Premijer Liga just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Round 1 most important game was a victory of Split over Zadar 84-83 on Monday night. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Mate Kalajzic (189-1998, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Lewis Sullivan (201-1995, college: UAB, agency: BIG) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Split’s coach Srdjan Subotic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international swingman Marko Ramljak (201-1993) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Zadar. Split is looking forward to face Dubrava in Zagreb in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zadar will play on the road against Sibenka in Sibenik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Zagreb: Dubrava and Cedevita Jr.. Cedevita Jr. was crushed at home by 35 points 65-100 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Cedevita Jr.. Swingman Filip Bjelanovic (197-2002) stepped up and scored 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Mihael Kos chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side the former international guard Josip Batinic (197-1999) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dubrava will play against Split at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cedevita Jr.’s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Zagreb Cibona.
The game between Cibona and Sibenka in Zagreb on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Cibona outscored guests from Sibenik 84-48. Ivan Perasovic nailed 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Matej Perkovic came up with 6 points and 8 rebounds for Sibenka in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cibona’s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Zagreb to the arena Cedevita Jr..

Other games in round 1 were not that significant. Skrljevo beat Dinamo on the road 85-70. Alkar lost to Bosco on its own court 72-80. Bottom-ranked Gorica managed to outperform Zabok in Velika Gorica 86-77.
