American Justin Patton (216-C/F-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Cholet and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 25-year old had the game-high 21 points adding four rebounds for Cholet in his team’s victory, helping them to crush Limoges (#10, 11-13) with 17-point margin 82-65. Cholet maintains the 3rd position in French Betclic ELITE ProA. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Cholet will need more victories to improve their 16-7 record. In the team’s last game Patton had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Justin Patton averages this season 11.7ppg and 5.1rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young Chadian power forward Jacques Alingue (203-F/C-1988) of Dijon. Alingue impressed basketball fans with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Dijon was edged by the lower-ranked Fos-sur-Mer (#14, 8-15) 97-95. This loss caused Dijon to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 14-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Alingue is one of the most experienced players at Dijon and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Stephane Gombauld (205-PF-1997) of Nancy (#17). Gombauld scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Gombauld’s great performance Nancy lost 87-93 to the higher-ranked Levallois (#2, 18-7). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Gombauld has individually a great season in France. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 7.0rpg (6th best). He also has 1.3bpg and FGP: 52.5%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
