Stanislav Sotnikov
Forward Stanislav Sotnikov (200-F-85, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) had a very impressive game in the last round for Novomoskovsk, receiving a Hoops Agents Superleague 2 Player of the Week award for round 30.
The 36-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 12 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Cheb.Yastreby (#2, 20-6) 78-86. Novomoskovsk maintains the 9th position in Russian Superleague 2. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 20 games and recorded just eight victories. In the team’s last game Sotnikov had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Novomoskovsk’s top player in his first season with the team. Stanislav Sotnikov has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in points (2nd best: 22.3ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 9.5rpg) and averages impressive 67.9% FGP.
The second best player in last round’s games was 24-year old Alexandr Milyutin (198-PF-97) of Dynamo-MGTU. Milyutin had a very good evening with a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he led Dynamo-MGTU to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Mitsu B. (#11, 3-25) 113-64. This victory allowed Dynamo-MGTU to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 15-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Milyutin is one of the most experienced players at Dynamo-MGTU and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was forward Roman Balandin (205-F-97) of league’s top team Tambov. Balandin scored 21 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of Tambov, leading his team to a 99-55 easy win against the lower-ranked Dynamo STV (#10, 7-21). Tambov confirms their top position in the standings. Balandin has a very solid season. In 28 games in Russia he scored 12.2ppg. He also has 5.3rpg and FGP: 68.5%.
