The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
An interesting game for Dubrovnik (17-1) which hosted in Dubrovnik 4th ranked Kastela (11-6). First ranked Dubrovnik had an easy win 83-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kastela. Dubrovnik made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Kastela 30-18 including 24 on the defensive glass. Dubrovnik looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Javon Levi (180-1998, college: UT Arlington, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 assists. Petar Dubelj (196-1997) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Ante Perkusic (196-2002) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds for Kastela. Kastela’s coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Dubrovnik have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-1 record. Kastela at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Kvarner 2010. Dubrovnik are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Sonik P. (#12) in Zadar in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Kastela will play at home against Samobor (#11) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Bottom-ranked Sonik P. is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 18th consecutive match to eighth ranked Mladost (7-11) 102-78. Guard Luka Mrsic (193-2002) scored 24 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Marko Ljubicic chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Dominik Zelanto (198-2000) with 19 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Mladost maintains eighth position with 7-11 record. Sonik P. at the other side still closes the standings. Mladost will play against higher ranked Kvarner 2010 (#5) in Rijeka in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sonik P. will play at home against the league’s leader Dubrovnik (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
The game in Rijeka was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Zagreb (12-5) played at the court of fifth ranked Kvarner 2010 (11-6). Kvarner 2010 managed to secure a 8-point victory 74-66 on Sunday. Courtney Fells notched 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds by Bruno Levanic-Kutin did not help to save the game for Zagreb. Kvarner 2010 moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kastela. Newly promoted Zagreb dropped to the third position with five games lost. Kvarner 2010 will meet Mladost (#8) in the next round. Zagreb will play against Omis-Cagalj T. (#6) in Galeb and hope to secure a win.
There were no big surprises in other games of round 18: Omis-Cagalj T. was beaten by Jazine on the road 80-75. Stoja Pula lost to Osijek on its own court 76-94. H.Analitica unfortunately lost to Samobor in a road game 70-75.

Kvarner 2010 – Zagreb 74-66
The game in Rijeka was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Zagreb (12-5) played at the court of fifth ranked Kvarner 2010 (11-6). We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Jazine (10-8) beat 6th ranked Omis-Cagalj T. (10-7) in Zadar 80-75 on Saturday. Forward Michael Ruzic (198-2006) notched 27 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Dino Palcic (185-1990) supported him with 6 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Jazine’s coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds by center Zvonko Buljan (206-1987, college: TCU) did not help to save the game for Omis-Cagalj T.. Guard Ivan Mimica (190-1980) added 21 points. Four Omis-Cagalj T. players scored in double figures. Jazine maintains seventh position with 10-8 record. Loser Omis-Cagalj T. keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Jazine will meet league’s second-placed Osijek on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Omis-Cagalj T. will play against Zagreb (#3) and hope to secure a win.

Very expected game when 10th ranked Stoja Pula (4-13) lost at home to second ranked Osijek (13-4) 94-76 on Sunday. Osijek looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American point guard Christian Bradford (185-1995, college: Radford) notched 26 points and 8 assists to lead the effort and point guard Kristijan Vladovic (185-1999) supported him with 17 points and 4 assists. Bradford is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals by Serbian guard Aleksa Matic (193-1999, college: N.Alabama) did not help to save the game for Stoja Pula. Center Marin Djugum (201-1996) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Stoja Pula’s coach Vladimir Korosec tested twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Osijek maintains second position with 13-4 record having five points less than leader Dubrovnik. Newly promoted Stoja Pula keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. Osijek will meet at home Jazine (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Stoja Pula will play against H.Analitica in Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Samobor (4-14) won against at home 9th ranked H.Analitica (6-12) 75-70 on Saturday. Samobor dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to H.Analitica’s 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Roko Spaseski (-2002) notched 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and guard Krunoslav Macner (193-2000) supported him with 17 points and 6 assists. Four Samobor players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 6 rebounds by forward Nikola Ivankovic (200-1999) did not help to save the game for H.Analitica. Swingman Josip Skara (193-1994) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Samobor maintains eleventh position with 4-14 record. H.Analitica lost third consecutive game.
