Da’Quan Cook
Vellaznimi-Gjakove (Superliga) signed experienced 35-year old American forward Da’Quan Cook (205cm-100kg-1987, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: BIG). Cook played last summer at Brown & White (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. He managed to play in four leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In only one TBT game he recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 5 blocks. The last season he played at Sigal Prishtina in Kosovan Superliga where in two games he had just 2.0ppg and 3.0rpg. Cook also played 6 games in Balkan League where he averaged 8.7ppg and 3.8rpg.
He is quite experienced player. Cook has played in sixteen different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Bahrain (Al-Hala), Bulgaria, Canada (The Storm and River Lions), China (Anhui Putianxingfa), Colombia (Cafeteros), France (Hyeres-Toulon), Kazakhstan (Barsy Atyrau), Morocco (FAR Rabat), Qatar (Al Khor), Saudi Arabia (Al Ansar and Al Nahda), Tunisia (JS Kairouan), United Kingdom (Sharks), Dominican Republic (Titanes), NBA G League (Maine Celtics), Ivory Coast (La Societe Omnisport de l’Armee Abidjan) and The Basketball Tournament (Tim Thomas P.).
His team was regular season runner-up in Tunisian League Group B in 2020.
Cook is close to retirement age as a player. It’s very possible he may end his playing career at Vellaznimi.
He graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 2012 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
