Jakob Poeltl
Toronto-Raptors signed 27-year old Austrian international forward Jakob Poeltl (7’0”-244lbs-1995, college: Utah). In his first game he scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. However his new team lost to Utah Jazz 116-122. It is actually his comeback to the Raptors as he has played here before. Poeltl started the season at San Antonio Spurs. He has played there for the last five years.
In 2016 he was drafted by Toronto Raptors in first round (9th overall). Poeltl graduated from University of Utah and it is his seventh season in pro basketball.
He has been a member of Austrian international program for some years. Poeltl has been regularly called to Austrian senior team since 2015 and previously for U18 National Team in 2012.
He has played previously for Raptors 905 Missisauga. Poeltl played in the final of NBA Eastern Conference -2017, 18 in 2017 and 2018.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted All-Pac-12 Player of the Year and was selected to Pac-12 All-Defensive Honorable Mention back in 2016.
