The most interesting game of round 24 was a derby match between two teams from Estonia. Sixth ranked Viimsi outleveled visiting Keila (7-17) 89-60. Viimsi dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Keila’s 32. Viimsi forced 19 Keila turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Keila’s players. The best player for the winners was American point guard Devin Harris (182-1992, college: OKWU) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals. Karl-Johan Lips (200-1996) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Kristen Kasemets (191-2002) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Viimsi maintains sixth position with 13-10 record. Keila lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. Viimsi are looking forward to face LU (#11) in Riga in the next round where they are favorite. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TalTech. It was a good game for American point guard Ty Gordon (183-1998, college: Nicholls St.) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Andrii Voinalovych contributed with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Latvian Kristaps Gluditis (190-1995) replied with 15 points and 4 steals for TalTech. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tartu have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-6 record having three points less than leader Prometey. TalTech at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Tartu will play against Parnu (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. TalTech will play against Ventspils and hopes to get back on the winning track.
