Bottom-ranked SDUSHOR is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 18th consecutive match to eighth ranked Grodno GrSU (6-12) 96-61 on Tuesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno GrSU. SDUSHOR managed to win fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grodno GrSU forced 45 SDUSHOR turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by SDUSHOR’s players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Dmitriy Naumenko (195-3) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Evheniy Savostian (193-3) contributed with 14 points, 6 assists and 9 steals for the winners. Forward Mikhail Golubko (190-5) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds for SDUSHOR. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grodno GrSU maintains eighth place with 6-12 record. SDUSHOR at the other side still closes the standings. Grodno GrSU are looking forward to face higher ranked Gomel (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SDUSHOR will play against Brest (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Minsk was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Grodno (12-6) played at the court of 6th ranked Impuls BGUIR (8-10). Grodno defeated Impuls BGUIR 88-78. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Nikola Djuric (203-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Maksim Miroshnichenko helped adding 18 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. At the losing side the former international guard Siarhei Vabishchevich (191-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists. Grodno maintains fourth place with 12-6 record. Impuls BGUIR lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Grodno will play against higher ranked Rubon (#3) in Vitebsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Impuls BGUIR’s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Tsmoki II.

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Rubon (13-6) beat on the road 9th ranked Tsmoki-Minsk U20 (3-15) 80-76. The guests were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-14 Tsmoki-Minsk U20’s run in the last quarter cut the lead to 80-76 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Tsmoki-Minsk U20 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. Rubon players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international guard Maksim Shustov (188-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Russian forward Marsel Ovsepyan (202-90) helped adding 10 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side forward Ivan Balduev (194-4) responded with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and Ivan Terehov (199-3) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Five Tsmoki-Minsk U20 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rubon maintains third place with 13-6 record having just one point less than leader Borisfen. Tsmoki-Minsk U20 lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Rubon will play against Grodno (#4) at home in the next round. Tsmoki-Minsk U20 will play against the league’s leader Borisfen (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

But then Grodno had a 24-17 second period charge getting the lead and Impuls BGUIR was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-88. Grodno dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Impuls BGUIR’s 34. They outrebounded Impuls BGUIR 46-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. Grodno players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Nikola Djuric (203-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field).
