29-year old power forward Tim Skerbec (200-PF-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for Portoroz and receives a Hoops Agents 2SKL Player of the Week award for round 16.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Litija (7-8) with 28-point margin 100-72. Portoroz is placed at 7th position in Slovenian 2SKL. Portoroz is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-8 record. In the team’s last game Skerbec had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. It’s his second year at Portoroz and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Skerbec has impressive league stats. He is league’s best scorer averaging so far 21.2ppg. Skerbec is in league’s top in and averages solid 60.5% FGP and 42.6% from behind 3-point line.
Second best performed player last round was Matic Lamut (2003) of Slovan. He is a in his second season at Slovan. In the last game Lamut recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Slovan lost that game 87-92 to the lower-ranked Litija (#8, 7-8). Despite lost game Slovan moved up to 4th position in the standings. His team’s 10-5 record is not bad at all. Lamut is well-known at Slovan and he already established his position as one of the team’s leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.7ppg (#5). He also registered 9.6 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to center Jaka Stemberger (201-C-1992) of Litija (#8). Stemberger scored 29 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Stemberger’s great performance Litija lost 72-100 to Portoroz (7-8). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Litija ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Stemberger could help Litija to bring them higher in the standings. Stemberger has a great season in Slovenia. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 18.3ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.8rpg (4th best).
