Bonzie Colson Jr.
26-year old power forward Bonzie Colson Jr. (198-PF-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league’s best team M.Tel-Aviv and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out H.Haifa (#9, 5-7) 108-104. It allowed M.Tel-Aviv to consolidate first place in the Israeli league. M.Tel-Aviv have a solid 11-2 record. In the team’s last game Colson Jr. had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Bonzie Colson Jr. averages this season 10.7ppg.
Second best performed player last round was Devonte Upson (206-C-1993) of H.Haifa. He is American center in his first season at H.Haifa. In the last game Upson recorded impressive 21 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as H.Haifa was edged by the higher-ranked M.Tel-Aviv (#1, 11-2) 108-104. This loss caused H.Haifa to drop to 9th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 5-7 record. Upson is a newcomer at H.Haifa and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Netanel Artzi (197-F-1997) of H.Eilat (#11). Artzi showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, six rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Artzi’s great performance H.Eilat lost 79-80 to the higher-ranked I.Ness Ziona (#4, 8-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. H.Eilat can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-10 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Artzi has a very solid season. In 13 games in Israel he scored 12.8ppg. He also has 5.1rpg, FGP: 55.1% and 3PT: 42.3%.
