Bashir Ahmed

American-Ghanian Bashir Ahmed (201-F/G-1993) had a very impressive game in the last round for league’s second-best Ylli and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 29-year old swingman had the game-high 21 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Ylli in his team’s victory, helping them to crush Prishtina (9-4) with 20-point margin 71-51. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. Ylli is placed at 2nd position in Kosovan Superliga. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Ylli will need more victories to improve their 9-4 record. In the team’s last game Ahmed had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Ylli’s top player in his first season with the team. Bashir Ahmed averages this season 14.8ppg and 5.4rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American guard Curtis Jones (195-G-1997) of Bashkimi. Jones impressed basketball fans with 30 points and 5 rebounds. Of course he led Bashkimi to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Trepca (#5, 6-8) 87-62. Bashkimi’s 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 5-10 record. Jones is a newcomer at Bashkimi and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.9ppg (#5).

The third best performed player last round was American Jalen Tate (198-SF-1998) of top-ranked Peja. Tate scored 17 points and passed four assists. He was a key player of Peja, leading his team to a 91-83 win against the lower-ranked Prizreni (#6, 5-8). Many experts and fans count Peja as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 12 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Tate has a very solid season. In 13 games in Kosovo he scored 14.0ppg.

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
