JobStairs Giessen 46ers (BBL) inked 31-year old Latvian international 200cm small forward Martins Laksa. Laksa started the season at Alba in Hungarian A Division. In 15 games he recorded 12.7ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.5apg. He ended the last season at Estudiantes in Spanish Liga Endesa where in 6 games he averaged 3.2ppg and 1.3rpg. But the most of that year he spent at Start in Polish EBL. In 28 games he had 14.1ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.3apg. Great season indeed as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Polish League Honorable Mention. Laksa also played 6 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 13.5ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.5apg.
He has been also a member of Latvian international program for some years. Laksa has regularly played for Latvian senior team since 2020 and previously for U20 National Team between 2020 and 2010.
He represented Latvia at the Qualifications to European Championship 2013 -1990 years ago. His stats at that event were 7 games: 7.3ppg, 2.0rpg, 2FGP: 60%, 3FGP: 21.1%.
Laksa has played previously professionally in Latvia (Valmiera, Ventspils, Jurmala, BA Riga and VEF Riga) and Spain (Obradoiro).
Among many awards his team made it to the Spanish Liga Endesa Supercup Final Four in 2019. He was selected to Eurobasket.com Latvian League All-Domestic Players Team between 2015 and 2017.
