Matej Radunic

26-year old center Matej Radunic (211-C-1996) had a very impressive game in the last round for Keila and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
He had the game-high 19 points adding seven rebounds and three assists for Keila in his team’s victory, helping them to crush Tarvas (#16, 1-13) with 25-point margin 96-71. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Keila is placed at 10th position in LAT-EST BL. Keila is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-8 record. In the team’s last game Radunic had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Keila’s top player in his first season with the team. Radunic has impressive league stats. He is league’s best scorer averaging so far 19.9ppg. Radunic is in league’s top in and averages solid 60.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Tervell Beck (201-C-1996) of Valmiera Glass. He is American center in his first season at Valmiera Glass. In the last game Beck recorded impressive double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Valmiera Glass lost that game 72-88 to the higher-ranked LU (#11, 6-10). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Valmiera Glass keeps 15th position. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Valmiera Glass managed to get this year. Beck is a newcomer at Valmiera Glass and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.5ppg (#9). He also registered 5.7 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Kristaps Dargais (198-PF-1990) of BK Ogre (#8). Dargais showcased his all-around game by recording 10 points, eighteen rebounds (!!!) and seven assists in the last round. He was a key player of BK Ogre, leading his team to a 79-78 win against slightly higher-ranked Ventspils (#6, 9-6). BK Ogre needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 8 lost games. Dargais has a great season in LAT-EST BL. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (#1 in league).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
