Swingman Arturas Vilutis (193-F/G-2005) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked VKM, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 17-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds, while his team crushed Zalgiris II (#4, 6-3) with 18-point margin 74-56. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. It allowed VKM to consolidate first place in the Lithuanian U18 League. VKM have a solid 8-1 record. In the team’s last game Vilutis had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. It’s his second year at VKM and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Arturas Vilutis has solid league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 13.4rpg. Vilutis is in league’s top in and averages impressive 1.9bpg and 63.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round’s games was young Vytautas Zygas (196-F-2005) of Zalgiris I. Zygas had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Zalgiris I to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Birzu (#10, 2-7) 115-72. This victory allowed Zalgiris I to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 5-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Zygas is a newcomer at Zalgiris I, but is already one of team’s top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Nojus Petraitis (178-PG-2005) of Birzu (#10). Petraitis showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, six rebounds and twelve assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Birzu, leading his team to a 108-107 overtime win against the higher-ranked Panevezio (#7, 5-5). Birzu can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-7 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Petraitis has individually a great season in Lithuania.
