The most important game of round 11 took place in Miedzychod between two undefeated teams where Miedzychod crushed Katowice KS 27 (10-1) 74-50 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Katowice KS 27. Miedzychod held Katowice KS 27 to an opponent 23.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Miedzychod forced 24 Katowice KS 27 turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Katowice KS 27 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for point guard Damian Szymczak (186-1995) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Marcin Wrobel (200-1987) helped adding 11 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Kajetan Kuczawski (176-2005) responded with 13 points and 4 assists. Undefeated Miedzychod (12-0) have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 12 victories in a row, which they share with AZS AWF Mick. Newly promoted Katowice KS 27 still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Pruszkow and Energa W-wa. They were replaced at the leadership position by Energa W-wa. Katowice KS 27 will play next round against Zary trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Miedzychod will try to continue on its current victory against sixteenth ranked Gimbasket in Wroclaw.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Energa W-wa as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Energa W-wa smashed 8th ranked Minsk Maz. in Warszawa 103-48. It was an exceptional evening for Norman Zuber (194-1994) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Mateusz Gorka accounted for 20 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Tymon Peplawski (194-2004) came up with 9 points and 6 rebounds for Minsk Maz. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Energa W-wa. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Pruszkow and Katowice KS 27. Newly promoted Minsk Maz. dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Minsk Maz. will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Energa W-wa will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Ostrow Mazow. at Ostrow Mazowiecki.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Katowice. Leader host Mickiewicz (12-0) defeated second-ranked Przemysl (9-2) 86-73. The best player for the winners was Marcin Salamonik who scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Lukasz Uberna produced 20 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Rather expected game when 11th ranked Korona (4-7) was crushed on the road by ninth ranked Gliwice 2 (4-6) 111-71 on Thursday. Gliwice 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Korona’s 38. Gliwice 2 forced 19 Korona turnovers and outrebounded them 40-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Korona’s players. The best player for the winners was swingman Aleksander Busz (202-2004) who scored 27 points and 5 assists. Guard Igor Krzych (182-2003) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. Gliwice 2’s coach Marcin Klozinski felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Bartosz Lesniak (176-2006) produced 20 points and 5 assists and guard Mateusz Orlowski (187-2006) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Despite that victory Gliwice 2 went down to tenth position due to points difference. Korona lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh place with seven games lost.
