Justas Ziubrys
17-year old point guard Justas Ziubrys (183-PG-2005) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league’s best team VKKM and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 45 points for VKKM in his team’s victory, helping them to outclass Panevezio (#6, 4-4) with 58-point margin 140-82. It allowed VKKM to consolidate first place in the Lithuanian league. VKKM have a solid 7-1 record. In the team’s last game Ziubrys had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range and got seven three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be VKKM’s top player in his first season with the team. Ziubrys has impressive league stats. He is in league’s top in points (3rd best: 23.5ppg) and averages solid 2.5spg,54.4% FGP and 41.7% from behind 3-point line.
Second best performed player last round was Vygantas Zaboras (2005). He is a in his first season at VKKM. In the last game Zaboras recorded impressive double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds. Of course together with Ziubrys he helped VKKM with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Panevezio (#6, 4-4) 140-82. Of course VKKM still keep the league’s top spot. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 7 matches. Zaboras is a newcomer at VKKM and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.
Third place about best performers goes to center Aleksas Bieliauskas (206-C-2005) of Zalgiris II (#3). Bieliauskas scored 22 points and grabbed eighteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Zalgiris II, leading his team to a 82-67 easy win against slightly lower-ranked SKM I (#5, 5-2). Zalgiris II needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Bieliauskas has a great season in Lithuania. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 20.2ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 12.0rpg (4th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
